Succession Plus Founder, Craig West, and Value ADE Director, Lachie McColl, recently established a service offering, SME Valuations, to support the growing demand for business, company and intangible asset valuations.
SME Valuations is an independent and dedicated service, complementing Succession Plus’s existing succession and exit planning advisory, and Capitaliz 's Business Insights Reports. We work with a number of accounting firms in Australia that prefer to outsource their valuations, remain free of conflicts and best manage their client relationships.
Key features and benefits:
Experienced and accredited Business Valuation specialists – We have more than 18 years’ full time business valuation experience, working with small to large business across all industries
Independent – We have no client conflicts that can arise in accounting firms with existing client relationships and multi-service offerings
Current research – We use the latest market evidence to support our opinions, including our own growing transaction database
Compliant – Our valuations comply with APES 225, ATO’s “market valuation for tax purposes”, and the IVSC valuation standards
Customised – Every business is unique, which is why our valuations are tailored to meet the specific needs of each client. We analyse the business financials, industry, growth prospects, risk profile and market conditions to provide a specific opinion.
Breadth of purpose – Every business owner will need a valuation at some stage. It might be for a tax restructure, owner or family dispute, acquisition or sale of business, or to have knowledge to make investment and strategic decisions.
Dedicated service – We are not tax agents, financial planners, bookkeepers or anything else. We only provide business valuation services to support you and your clients.
Honest and no nonsense - We know our limits and are not afraid to decline work if we consider a valuation is not appropriate, not necessary or outside our area of expertise.
Ongoing support – We are only a phone call away for ongoing support, answering your questions, and assist your clients that need business valuations.
Our fees are an investment - Most clients will only go through the valuation process once in their business ownership lifetime, so we like to think of the cost as an investment in protecting a key asset. For instance, if a business has value of $1 million, a fee of say $7,500 represents 0.75% of the business’ value.
